Based in St.Gallen, Switzerland, this project was formed 2012 by Swiss Drummer & Producer Ema Nuel and Djembéfola Yamoussa Sylla from Guinea Conakry. Their Mainband includes also Koraplayer Sadio Cissokho from a famous senegales griotfamily and Dave Mäder on Bass. Their Idea is to create new sunmusic by mixing traditional african instruments like kora, djembé, doundoun or kalimba with soulful modern sounds, universal grandpianos and hiphop - inspired beats. 

Debutalbum freequency of da sun

17 musicians from Guinee, Senegal, Southafrica and Switzerland have been invited to play on their debutrecord “freequency of da sun” (out 21.02.2021 on Sogue Records). Among them you find Jazzpianist, Healer & BlueNoteRecords - Artist Nduduzo Makhathini from South Africa on keys.

Almost all compositions are based on melodic grooves of the two drummers.

Free floating vibe music, open and universal, mostly instrumental, sometimes with vocals and spoken words…The songs talk about patience, healing, team spirit, peace, a new education for our kids and about the sun as symbol of love, hope and a strong force within all of us. Dedicated to all african people worldwide, this record also wants to celebrate all the love african and afroamerican music is bringing to this world.

Second Album rememba da sun you are (Release 2024)

On their second Album NOUMUSO recorded new Songs that they created as a group together. Produced again by Drummer & Mainhead EmaNuel, this time a lot of ideas were brought by Koraplayer and Singer Sadio Cissokho (Senegal). Besides the maingroupmembers, their Pianoplayer Nduduzo Makhathini (SouthAfrica) and their new guitarplayer Gabriel Meyer (Switzerland) added their magic notes and some interesting guest appear: Bassplayer Childo Tomas (Mozambique), US - Saxophonstar Logan Richardson, Percussionist Keisel Jimenez and Pianoplayer Aismar Simon Carrillo (both Cuba), uprising female Pianoplayer Thandi Ntuli, Singer Omagugu Makhathini and Saxophoneplayer Linda Sikhakhane (all SouthAfrica) and Griotte Singer Manamba Kanté (Guinee).
